There may be rumors of wars —
Where can we go to find peace?
A powerful warhorse, a mighty steed,
Black as his master’s soul,
Stood proudly and barely glanced up from his feed
As three travelers came in from the road.
So begins “Carol of the Horse” a song that tells the story of a warhorse in a Bethlehem stable on the night of the first Christmas.
Christian Inspirational recording artist Sharie Conard sings the song on an audio CD that accompanies the book. Bass singer “Chip” Cooper, of the Mystery Men Quartet provides narration of the story so that little pre-readers can follow along.
Award-winning illustrator, muralist and fine artist Danielle Stephen created amazing images to illustrate the story and bring it to life.
The song “Carol of the Horse” was nominated for the 2005 Song of the Year by the United States Association of Gospel Entertainers and Musicians (USAGEM).
